Sam Appleyard
Consultant
Sam is a member of the firm’s commercial team, with over 40 years’ experience in legal practice, who has practised extensively in the Northern Territory and South Australia.
He has substantial experience in property development, complex community title projects, liquor licensing, and mining and resources. At a previous firm he was the partner responsible for the then Federal Airports Corporation in their property and commercial dealings, advising on complex government and private development issues.
Sam is also an experienced Notary Public and able to assist clients requiring notarisation of documentation for use in international jurisdictions.
He was a founding Director of Marathon Resources Limited (MTN:ASX) a mining exploration company which listed on the ASX in March 2005. He retired as a Partner of Lynch Meyer in November 2007, due to his involvement with Marathon. He retired from Marathon in September 2015 following its reverse takeover, (now NeuRizer Limited-ASX:NRZ) continuing with Lynch Meyer as a Consultant.
His involvement with Marathon, and experience in its diverse legal and compliance issues, enables provision of a valuable mix of legal and commercial insight to assist clients in a practical and effective manner. He provides an “insiders” perspective and judgement to the legal process and resolution of issues.
Prior to his commitment with Marathon Sam was a member of the Property Committee of the Law Society of South Australia for many years.
