James practices extensively in all aspects of insolvency, recoveries and commercial disputes. He was consecutively Recommended in Doyle’s Guide as a Leading Insolvency & Restructuring Lawyer in South Australia for 2016 & 2017.
James regularly appears as Counsel in company liquidation and bankruptcy litigation. He advises insolvency practitioners and creditors on a wide range of insolvency and preference-related issues. For over 20 years James acted for Australia’s largest debt collection agency and oversaw all recovery actions in South Australia for that client. In recent years he has become recognised as a specialist commercial and recovery litigator. He represents banks and financial institutions in secured and unsecured recovery actions.
James is the Immediate Past National President of the Australian Institute of Credit Management (AICM). He regularly presents seminars for the Institute and other industry and insolvency groups. James represents the AICM on the ASIC Insolvency Reform Advisory Panel. He has lectured in commercial law at the Adelaide Institute of TAFE and is regularly invited by the Law Society of South Australia to speak as part of their specialist education program.
