The summer clerkship program at Lynch Meyer was organised to give us a structured exposure to all practice areas in the firm. The work we participated in was diverse and exciting. I assisted with research on legal principles and procedural issues, drafting advice on a range of interesting matters and drafting articles on topical issues in law and policy. Some of the most valuable experience was gained by shadowing experienced practitioners in client meetings, mediations and court attendance. The partners and entire team at Lynch Meyer were incredibly welcoming and generous with their time to sit down and engage with us as clerks. The firm has a strong culture of comradery and we immediately became part of the team. We were encouraged to join in on social events and Christmas activities, which really added to the whole experience. For anyone wanting to gain an insight into the diverse practice of a commercial law firm, I would highly recommend a summer clerkship at Lynch Meyer.

My time as a summer clerk with Lynch Meyer was an invaluable opportunity to learn from many highly skilled and experienced practitioners. From the first minute to the last, I was welcomed and assisted by the friendly and patient practitioners at the firm. The rotating nature of the program is the perfect balance of structure and flexibility which allowed me to gain exposure to a variety of different practice areas. Whether it be attending court proceedings, sitting in on client meetings, preparing legal documents, or conducting legal research, every day of the program was different and engaging. Inclusion in the firm’s festive events provided a great opportunity to learn more about the wonderful people at the firm and made me feel like I was a part of the team.
